Activity : Length/age conversion
This activity aims to deal with problems of transposition of catch at length into catch at age, in situations characterized by a lack of direct reading data (e.g. otoliths) and/or aging difficulties (e.g. sardinela). Within this activity, we will test fitting mixture distribution methods based on constraints such as a specific growth curve and decreasing variability of individual length with age. We will also analyze the sensitivity of the results to the growth curve considered.
